So I have been trying to find the filter floss I like best

1. LFS sells it by the sheet, no idea of brand, but *guessing* polyfilter
2. Aquaforest filter floss
3. Aquatic Experts Classic Blue

I have used all three so far, right now I *think* I like either the polyfilter or Aquaforest the best, but was wanting other's opinions

Thanks in advance.

I’ve been using this in my filter cups. Works fine. It does make the protein skimmer act up for a little while. I usually just open up the adjustment screw for 24 hours before I start skimming again.

Is that loose poly? or is it in a sheet?

Like mentioned above, the folly fill, or even pillow stuffing.... check on amazon for idea's they have lots of products

I use loose poly in filter cups (replaced filter socks).
Ok then, I’ll be trying “poly-fil” next time. I happen to currently need to buy more!

Hi. Can I please ask how long you find the Aquaforest filter lasting and if you have a stronger opinion now on your favorite option. Thank you for your help!

I have used up my Aquaforest floss this past week, and moved onto the Aquaready stuff.

I really can't tell a difference in the two, but I find myself swapping it out about 4-5 days.

That’s great to hear. I will check out the second one you mentioned as well. Thank you!

this is what I use, it's a sheet but easy to cut, and super affordable: https://amzn.to/3HwvFHS

Can I please ask how long you are able to keep it in your filter cups before you have to change it out and how much floss you typically put in there in terms of how much of the cup you fill with it?
I fill the cups loosely but full. I use two wads per cup. I change the top wad weekly or as I see decreased flow (indicated by increased water depth). Add a new wad to the bottom and take the old bottom wad and make it the top. The 5lb box is gonna last me a long time with two 7” filter cups.

I place it loosely into the filter cups just above the slits that allow water to flow through. If you fill it too packed or full, it will slow the water flow and honestly it’s just wasteful because for the most part all the crud is caught in the top layer.

As for changing it, I change it every day or two. When I notice the overflow area that houses the cups are holding water I know it’s time. A bag will last me months and costs only 3-4 dollars at hobby lobby.
