Hi I'm posting about brs liquid soda ash
Does it make sense I add 3.5 ounces a day to keep my tank stable? It's a 240 gallon mixed reef tank. Thanks in advance, leib.

How much is your consumption?
Depended on your demand it is possible.
They have a calculator on their site that you can use to determine how much to dose to keep the level where you want it.

I add 150ml a day of BRS soda ash and the same of Ca, 5 US fluid ounces each to my 240 daily.
Channels 1 and 2 on the doser.

Seems reasonable if you have it well stocked with coral. If it’s an empty tank then it may be a bit much.
I kinda have a couple soft corals and a few hard corals nothing major though that's why I asked

The best way to ask this question is to know and ask about the dKH per day, not mL. Just makes others do the math.

Using this calculator, i determined that 3.5 ounces per day of my DIY #1 (BRS uses this) in 240 gallons is only 0.65 dKH per day.

That is a pretty low dose and is nothing to be concerned about. Even a soft coral tank with good coralline growth can use 2 dKH per day, and SPS tanks can need more. My mixed reef tank used about 2 dKH per day.

I'd still keep an eye on your pump impellers for calcium buildup.
