Does anybody know where I can buy SodaLime locally?

The shipping costs are a lot higher than what I expected for a 5 gallon bucket. I have checked with AirGas on 3rd Ave N and they do not carry it.

Thanks
Randy

I bought 36 pounds off of shopmedvet for about half of what BRS charges. Shipping is $5. The total is like $110 or so.

Thanks for the tip. In order to get the $5 shipping I had to get two buckets. So I got 72 pounds for $179 with shipping

The media came in today. In 2 hours the PH has gone from 7.82 to 7.89. Hopefully the media doesn't deplete too quickly.

I got some from the vet mesds site listed above but it seems to deplete much faster than the TLF version that I had before. Also, these are large pellets vs the small beads so surface area is much smaller.

Please let us know how long each application lasts. I have a 120 gal plus 30 gal sump.

Will do. My tank and sump both are in a basement. Also my skimmer is a Reef Octopus 6000 external that draws a lot of air. Guess I'm trying to say I'm probably close to worse case scenario

What is the TLF version? Also were there any skimmer performance issues with running the small beads? It makes since that the smaller size would last longer

Than the pet vet stuff? I'd say yes, the color change is at least twice as long. It looks like the BRS is the small sphere as well which is probably a cheaper option.

I really appreciate the tips and will try what you suggested the next go around. If if lasts over twice as long then it would be a better value

Well It looks my guess of being close to worse case scenario was correct. In a day and a half it went through two canisters. Was expecting it to last at least 4 days

Yea, that's a LOT of co2 you're working with. Are you basing its age off ph drop or of color change? I see color change pretty quickly on the large pellets, like 2-3 days max, but it still seems to work for at least a week after.
