Polyps appear to be breaking off. Is that a normal sign of growth? Clarkii’s have took a liking to it as of late.

are the clarkii’s rating it or just ‘hosting’ in it :) I know soft corals leathers too like to jump off and foot around to a new spot when they are extremely happy and out of grow space. My leather tree coral has done that as well as my friends and his zoas. Popped right off.

Hosting I believe. The coral has been growing like crazy. Then all of a sudden polyps missing in action . New polyps already forming

That’s cool maybe the hosting is stressing the coral? I know mushrooms when irritated or are upset about where they are will relocate by popping off. If the coral is continuing to grow then I wouldn’t be worried sometimes a coral not used to hosting can acclimate to hosting clowns with time. Polyps could be retracting Bc they aren’t used to it. If you don’t see scraps of the clove polyps elsewhere and it’s dying off then I’d be worried.
