Sold to me as Ultra Lobo?

I’m not exactly a coral expert but this thing was sold to me as an ultra lobo and it’s super unique in that it has these tentacle like things, I’ve never seen one before. I asked about their care for it, to make sure I could mimic at home and after some discussion I took it .

It’s doing really well in the tank, just wondering if anyone can identify it more specifically for me?

I think they are called carpet lobos, Thats a nice one

I feed my lobo once a week, a piece 1/4 x1/4 of raw shrimp in the morning when I turn the lights on, and its tenticals are still out. the shrimp sticks to tenticals around its mouths, pretty good.

Carpet lobo seems to be the one! Wow, I fell in love with this thing instantly. Will it accept smaller foods such as mysis if spot fed? I just got done broadcast feeding some Nyos for some of my smaller corals so I will try to feed it tomorrow, I can’t find where the mouth is at the moment lol

Happy to hear I've got myself something cool! It's my first maricultured coral too, not that it has any significance but I was excited by that lol.

Glad you like it as much as I do! I almost walked away in the store, but I've not seen one before and I don't buy online so might not have seen another one.

For me, feeding the small piece shrimp, right to the tenticals is easier for me because of flow. You should be able to see the mouths after lights out or early morning..The mouths will be right down the center, You can see the mouth on mine, they are white and the tenticals come out, around the figure 8 looking line around the mouths of the coral

Yep that's the one!

I have it on the bottom of the tank, google says that they are found mostly in shallow reefs but are actually quite uncommon specimen. If they are in shallow reefs, maybe I should turn my lights up a bit to make sure it has enough as I imagine shallow reefs receive a lot of light. My two AI primes should be more than enough in the 170 though.

Lobophyllia generally like low light, so I would advise against turning your lights up.
