Crazy growth. Very envious how you guys can grow a nub to an almost full size colony. Some people just have the blue thumb for this. I just want to know what I'm doing wrong besides stable parameters which I'm really on top off. I'll be happy with 1/2 inch growth in two months.

My growth spurt came from higher no3 (10) and po4 0.10-0.20 and increasing my photo peak period to 10 hours. Are you carbon dosing or using gfo?

@Chaswood79 were your nutrients lower before? If so, how long did you take to increase them? Did you notice improvements right away? (growth, coloration, polyp extension)

They were at the recommended “ideal” low level. 1-2.5 no3 and 0.02-0.05 po4 and 7.0 alk for months with very little growth. I raised the alk to 8-8.5 and started feeding more because all the big name vendors practice high light and higher nutrients and so far I’ve noticed much faster growth than before. I don’t carbon dose, use bio pellets or gfo. I couldn’t keep any acros alive using these methods.

Polyp extension was amazing at the lower levels as well.

Might have to try those numbers for a bit. Currently running three nano chemi pure with 30 gal capacity carbon with media spheres that gives 0.08 phos and 10 nitrate for my Nuvo 40. 12 hour light cycle AB+ settings with hydra 26 on SPS side and Prime on LPS side. Don't get me wrong, the corals grow just not as fast as yours. Planning on implementing t5 hybrid later this summer. Thanks for taking the time. I run 2 hydra 52 HD’s 16” above my 50 gallon cube. AB+ with more red and green and a little less white
