Hi All,

What started with the clown fish during and after 30 days of Cupramine is now on the kole tang, other clown and gramma. The only one not showing symptoms is the butterfly.

They had 30 days of Cupramine with metro mixed in towards the end after suspecting brook. One dose of prazi almost a week ago and now are on the trifecta of antibiotics because I don’t know what else this could be. They seem “itchy” and bothered by it.

Is there any other ideas of what to treat this with? No fish have died from it, yet, but it has been on going so not sure if that rules out velvet and brook.

Thanks again.

Scratch that. The butterfly has these mysterious hook like things too.

I managed to get very upclose pics. The growths on the actual fish appear to be clear.

The last pic on the butterfly is about as close as I can get to showing what it actually looks like.

None of this seemed to be an issue for any fish except the orange clown during copper and as soon as copper was removed, it spread to everyone. That makes me think brook... but I also did two weeks of metro... I’m so frustrated. Freshwater dips have been on the tang, butterfly and clown and no visible flukes.

I think if it was velvet or brook you would’ve lost something by now. I’m wondering if these are resistant flukes or worms and might need fenbendazole. How long did you keep the fish in the FW dip for?

I did 5 minute dips on them. I noticed this kind of exploded after prazi when I removed the copper.

How we're you testing your copper levels? I wonder if copper fell and ich got through. Maybe try ttm as you probably don't want to throw much more at the fish. You can finish up the trifecta during ttm.

If your using display water for changes I would throw a black Mollie in the sump to check that system for ich.

I just want to update that I dosed a 3rd dose of Kanaplex last night and this morning they all are looking better. I really had a hard time believing it was Ich because I tested the copper levels sometimes twice a day for the duration of treatment.

I’m guessing it was either a nasty bacterial or fungal infection but leaning towards fungal based on the growths. Hope this can help someone else who may run into this after a long Cupramine treatment!

Thanks for all of the replies and help.
