I'm new to saltwater aquariums. I had my tank for a couple of weeks and I put some LPS corals in - including a torch. It looked good for some days, but then it didn't open anymore. Yesterday - after a week - one head died and today another seems to be dying as well. When I took out the torch, I saw something wrapped around its head. This one sticks to the skeleton of the torch, it's neither soft nor hard, I can tell it's organic. Do you know what it is?
Thanks for your help.

Probably some sort of sponge.

Looks like some brown jelly disease on the torch. Bottom photo on the left you can see some brown slimy stuff in among the tentacles

A 2 week old tank is not really ready to house more difficult corals like torches.

Thanks for your answer Shirak. I saw the brown stuff too and I was thinking about BJD. But when I took out the torch, I saw the "sponge" thing and I suppose that it killed my torch.
So you mean the sponge thing is harmless and the torch died because of BJD? If this is true, what should I do with my tank to avoid BJD attacking other corals (I already removed the torch)?
