I am taking a tank down as I am moving and I had to break apart some live rock to get a pistol shrimp. I discovered this:

It moved and conformed to the rock. Reminded me of a slug or a snail outside of its shell (I know that’s not possible just what it moves like).

Anyone seen that movie with Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal when they are on the space ship testing that thing from mars? That’s what I feel like I found.

Anyway, anyone know what it is?

Wow, that was quick. So you’ve seen these guys before? I did a quick google search and couldn’t find them, guess they aren’t a common hitchhiker. Thanks for letting me know.
Its more of a educated guess read.about them on r2r. Can't remember exactly where.

From the looks of it a sea slug of sort

It’s easier to identify in water. Can you put it back in water and take a pic? It does remind me of a sea slug like the others mentioned.

They are also super hard to catch. A snail will last them a month before they come out to hunt again.

You can tell the difference between them and a snail by mouth and antenna.
