Sponges growing on Clam?

I have a few clams in my frag tank and one of them has what looks to be a type of sponge growing up the sides. Should I kut it off with bone cutters or leave it? It seems happy enough?

The bubble algae would concern me a lot more.

The bubble algaes on a rock a bit further down. Picture makes it look close. Its getting under control with emeralds.

Only if it irritates the mantle. You can simply (and safely) pull the clam out and brush off the sponge, rinse in some tank water in a separate container and put it back in.
