Oooh, nice! I had a colony in the coral tray at my LFS for a year, by the time it finally coloured up, I managed to accidentally nuke it in what was likely a contaminated potassium chloride dip.

I’ve lost 4 frags of it over the last year and a half.. different ones but this one has been happy! It’s a temperamental coral! I learned they don’t like high flow or light lol.

Yep! They hate high light - didn’t realise high flow was also a minor issue, no wonder it loved the LPS tray when I temporarily had it in there.

5 hour iodine on a frag from a mariculture piece that looks identical to black sabbath! Just thrown it on a frag plug and now the waiting game.

Okay, how?!
Lots and lots of alkalinity lol… my tank sucks it up! I really don’t know.. it’s by far the happiest coral in my tank haha! That thing 18 months ago was a little frag.

That’s what I was guessing. I’m not brave enough for one yet. Don’t have Troylee’s type of system, amazing stuff.
That particular coral has gotten the best of me over and over! I’ve finally figured them out! I think I cooked them all with super high par lol..

My Andromeda - 5.5 years in between these photos. Came to me as a tiny wild frag in 2019 or so. She’s not winning any speed grow out competitions but she sure is a looker.

It’s cool seeing all those acros from almost 20 years ago at the beginning of the thread. Before over complication and goofy name game 😂 on the other hand, it’s interesting to see how far the hobby has come
It’s a blast from the past for me! So many names I know and they’re long gone! Hopefully they’re doing well! Also a lot of the corals are gone lol..

Just think of the next 20 years.. I wonder what everybody would predict? I think the new classics will hold some value like WD, Homewrecker, purple monster but I bet either prices eventually go down (with rate of inflation considered) or frag sizes go up. The selection will be sick and with the rate of cool new releases coming out now there’s no telling what will come and what will go by then. I imagine it will be a bit “easier” but not “easy”.
