Cut the foot. I've had a few stick to rocks that I've actually torn the foot off. They all grew out. No issue to mother or baby.
If you want to be careful, put the mother and the cut in some iodine for a few minutes after. Doesn't need to be a lot, just a few drops in a container lol.
