Standard barb fitting

Just picked up a 300 XL G2+. I plan to use a Vectra S2 pump and would like to plumb a 3/4” return line. I’ve received conflicting information on the Red Sea plumbing and hoping someone hear who has a new tank can help.

Can you screw a standard 3/4” barb into the Red Sea plumbing? If not, how did you plumb in a standard size return line?

A little more context. Red Sea is saying I need this adapter to get to standard piping sizes. https://fishtanksdirect.com/red-sea-custom-pipe-connector-for-170g2-300g2-reefers/

I contacted a couple distributors and they seem to think I can just thread in a standard 3/4” into the existing plumbing.
