Star Polyp not spreading

Hi all,

So I got this star polyp frag that seems to not want to spread. It's been in there since October. When I originally glued this onto the rock it came off the frag plug, so I super glued the polyp directly to the putty and then mounted it to the rock.

Would the super glue prevent the polyps to spread? Should I go in and cut/lift the encrusting part to give it a chance? I'm surprised it hasn't moved from the exact ring for months but has grown within that space.

I would personally leave it alone. Make sure water params and lighting is good. My frags finally after 3 months have just now been encrusting by a few polyps off the plug. Not much but they have started. Give it time. I feed reef roids weekly and dose seachem plus as well

Mine took like 4 months to even get off the plug now its boom! An inch a month of growth
