Hello, i got a starry blenny and a royal gramma today. I acclimated them the exact same way. There in a qt tank together the royal gramma is doing amazing but the blenny is panting and unable to keep himself up. My boyfriend was trying to help him and ended up stirring the sand up so the tank looks really dirty. my phone wont let me upload a video.

Starry blennies don't have a swim bladder so they sink like a rock when resting (not actively swimming). The best course of action may be to just let it rest and get acclimated.
sadly right after i posted this we came to the conclusion that he had a broken back, he finally started to swim but couldn’t use any part of his body after the kink in his back, looking at the videos of him being acclimated he has the same kink and isn’t swimming in those either. He ended up passing a couple minutes ago and when we inspected him it was definitely broken. Sadly i think it happened while he was being caught at the store because he was definitely swimming and happy when I picked him out.

Its coloring looks pale to me, the light spot isnt typical on them in my experience. #fishmedic

Very sorry to hear, and sounds like there was not anything that could have been done. Starry blennies are such awesome fish, maybe give it another try when you have the opportunity.
