Stop That! Do you have a reefing pet peeve?

I'm sure it's safe to say most of us have a pet peeve in our regular lives. Loud chewing, being interrupted in the middle of a conversation—oh, just me? Anyway, I bet some of us have some pet peeves that apply to our reefing lives as well. Maybe a common practice that isn't all that helpful, or maybe even a tank inhabitant who has a particularly annoying behavior. What's yours?

Had a bicolor blenny that every time i turned off the MP10s to do maintenance he would swim right up into the impeller housing and sit there. Would have to reach in and shoosh him out, every time I'd yell "stop that!" Like I thought he understood me

Yes people sticking their hands in my tank lol. I am pretty cautious about crap getting in my tank. I prefer to rinse my hands in RODI water prior to putting my hands in.

I had a dottyback that went inside my mp 40 when it was shutdown for a water change. Turned it on without knowing it was inside. RIP

I have a slight pet peeve, I wouldn't consider it that normally but for conversation I will bring it up.


It is the tanks that aren't bare bottom and aren't a sand beds. Were half the glass is showing and little islands of sand here and there. What are they trying to accomplish with that?

When someone asks for “the best ___”. There is no such thing. There are best practices in this hobby but these don’t apply in every single case. So much of this hobby is dependent on other factors that choosing “the best” is impossible. Nearly everything in this hobby is subjective which means every person is different and there is no one answer.

Yo! This is a good list! I was ticked by the end of it. lol That fading syringe? omg so frustrating.
