Hello all!

I am new over here on this forum and stopping by for a little intro. My name is Mike, live in Yonkers, NY USA and been hooked on this hobby since 1980. In the late 80's & early 90's I worked in the aquarium industry doing installs in private and commercial complexes. Also at the time, assisted in managing a 100,000+ sq.ft. aquarium store. After that, I went into the Marine Corps and now working in the healthcare industry for St. John's Hospital in New York. Over the years in marine fish & reefkeeping, I have now been led down the road to keeping Azooxanthellae corals & crinoids. Looking forward to contributing to this forum.

Sweet welcome to R2R!

Welcome to R2R man!
Sounds like you have plenty of experience which we would like to hear :)

I hadn't heard of anyone keeping crinoids before. How did that go? Easy? Difficult? They're one of my favorite sea creatures, and fossils! Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome guys!

I have ben keeping crinoids for a little over 3 years and currently have 10 of them. As for how difficult are they to keep...they can be very delicate, require specialized care, will deteriorate rapidly to sudden changes in the aquarium and do not ship well, otherwise they are awesome.

Welcom to R2R! Looking forward to hearing some of your knowledge. These crinoids are insane. I have never heard of anyone keeping these until now. Very interesting, Keep us posted.

Welcome Mike! :D

Mike is a very skilled aquarist that has an amazing non-photosynthetic aquarium running right now (along with another).

Great to have you here!

Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Austin, you are too kind and thank you again for inviting me over to this forum.

It is all of us that help advance the hobby. I am looking forward to learning from everyone here, sharing expierences and knowledge. While doing so, make a few new friends and maybe even convert a few over to the darkside of reefkeeping.

Mike
