Stringy goo on pipe organ coral

Discovered this olive colored stringy goo covering my pipe organ coral. The coral looked healthy and didn’t have this growth just this morning. I’ve also never had any visual patches of hair algae anywhere in the tank.

I can't make out much from your pic, but it does look like hair algae to me. And, when I clicked on your post, I was fully expecting to see diatoms or dinoflagellate algae; two common pest algae in newer tanks.

I was going to suggest removing the frag and giving it a bath in a solution of hydrogen peroxide, but I can't find solid info as to whether your pipe organ is a good candidate for a hydrogen peroxide dip, or for how long or at what concentration.

It’s hair algae. Your tank looks new, it’s probably just the ugly phase

I know very little about Pipe Organs other than that they're a more difficult coral - or at least used to be considered more difficult. Most corals can be dipped in hydrogen peroxide - just the strength and length of time they can be dipped varies.

That’s the guide I linked above and what I go by too, but Pipe Organs were not mentioned on the top post, so I didn’t know what concentration or length of time to suggest. But a peroxide bath is likely what I’d try here

It's one of the "Tub" corals and since the other 2 (plus more sensitive corals) are in "Low" concentration I'd stick there.

You could also dip a new toothbrush in the solution to scrub the frag plug or just use a new plug. As mentioned, I’d dip the pipe at the lower concentration and see what the results are.
I know euphyllia can take a pretty good concentration without harm.
