Does anyone have any good links for sump design? I am building a sump for my frag tank and I need some ideas. The sump will be in a 15 gallon tank (24x12x12). Im most likely going to be using a reef octopus NWB-110 skimmer the footprint of this skimmer is 10"x6.75". Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Kevin

i dont have any direct link but if you use the search tab around on ehre you can find a lot of different designs, also try under the DIY forum

check out melevsreef.com Mark Levenson is a great guy with tons of information on his sites.

I would personaly build a simple 3 chamber sump with the water entering the skimmer chamber, then moving into a fuge area, then through a bubble trap into the return section. Here is a picture of my old sump. Ignore the section to the far right, it is for automatic water changes.

Yeah I agree that's the best set up IMO no micro bubbles and works very efficiently.

Thanks that really helps. One more question: what kind of silicone should I use and is there anything I need to do before I run water through it like clean it?

GE silicone type I is reefsafe but only type I. A good cleaning is easier without baffles and let the silicone cure for a week to be safe.
