I know what you're all thinking, why attempt a simp on a ten gallon or why even bother with a 10 gallon reef. The fact of the matter is, it's a tank I built a year ago aimed at being as quiet as possible as it is located in my bedroom and by my desk. Anyways, the tank currently is filled with about 25 prices of various SPS, Zoa's, hammer, etc. All of which I'm getting amazing growth out of, enough that once a week I go to the LFS to trade in frags I grew. The tank is lit by a Kessil. This tank has been very diy as I find t fun to build systems and to run a nano reef everyone said wouldn't be worth keeping. I have now decided to replace the canister filter( it's just running a filter lad and some rubble live rock) with a sumo. Either 2.5 or 5 gallon. I have no general layout of the sumo yet and am seeking advice as to what to run in it. Do I run a skimmer or refugium through the entire tank? Suggestions and general layouts would be great!

Yes, the only problem I'm running into is a limited amount of space in my stand. I don't know the dimensions off the top of my head but I think I have a maximum of 17 inches long to work with
