Hi reefers,

I am looking to revamp my entire sump area and had a few questions. It is a Reefer 350 and I am re-plumbing all the drains, and adding a manifold to the return line (hard plumbed). The other thing I wanted to do was paint the outside walls of the sump white, so that I could see detritus better and make the sump look better overall. Any ideas on how I can do this? I know that I would be able to paint it, but my concern is how I would take the tank of the support of the sump for 8 or so hours. I have no bacteria growth areas in my sump. I do have a canister filter rated for 30 gallons that I could attach, and I could get a sponge filter, but would this be enough? Opinions?

Thanks

I think as long as you have good gas exchange with water movement, 8 hours should not be a prob. An air stone will help. You have live rock and sand yes?
I would watch for a temp swing and ammonia.

Ok sounds good. I have an aerator, flow pumps, and live sand and rock, so I should be good.

Oh and paint fumes can be toxic to your tank
