Thanks guys. This acro was grown out by Kip, a local oldschool reefer, for years and then was passed around for several years. This guy is also a super fast grower. I lost my mini colony a while back and was actually able to get a frag back about month or so ago. Thanks CJ!

The new growth has a nice purple to it and polyps are a bright neon green but the base has the normal tricolor look. I believe it is an acropora nana.

What is the official difference between the garf and the tricolor? Is it just a world of branding or is there actually a difference?

In general the GARF is very solid purple with green polyps, so two colors. A tri-color, based on the Reef Farmers website has a third color, which is brown. So the difference is the brown I guess.

Thanks! I guess i'd have to see it in person to tell, pictures just look the same.
