Everything in your tank really looks great! I see you're also trying to recreate Van Gogh's "Starry Night" on the back of your tank! :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
lol's. It's just too hard to keep clean. Now that there are corals growing up I risk knocking them off to get to the middle of the tank, and my arms just do not have good reach for the sides so the back can feed snails and whatever else. Even have some palys growing on the wall now...

did you see the stingers on that galaxea? And thanks

I heard that... I've got a rather large Chip's Acropora that I'm in the same boat with (I'll need to do something sooner as opposed to later with that one as it's been just insane). I added a Cat's Eye for the first time today - wish me luck!

beautiful!!! I want to add some meat corals and other "sand" corals. Might have to do some shifting of stuff though I do have some sand spots. And some "debris" that I need to clean up like snail shells and rubble rocks. Hope it does well in your tank!

You definitely should - your corals are doing just awesome so I think you'd good success. I hope so too! (it doesn't look thrilled this morning, but hopefully it's just early)

sorta sad. I gave up on the nem today. He wasn't gone but I didn't see any hope for it. I leave tomorrow for 5 day, leaving hubby in charge, and did not want him to deal with a dead nem. Had I been here, I'd have waited until the bitter end. I feel so guilty. The poor thing only had a few tentacles left, a bit of color but not much.

Rest of tank doing good. Except 1 colony of pocilipora. Almost totally bleached out in like 3 days. Same thin happened to the bird's nest colonies. The monti digitata next to it is also bleaching out. No idea why. All other pocilipora doing good. and the monti dig. I'm not heart broken as there is more than enough of both in the tank.

Took out most of the chaeto which surprisingly has survived the reef flux. lots of aiptasia in the sump-not sure what to do aside from aiptasia x. Got at least 2 big ones in the tank. Need some peppermint shrimp and maybe a aiptasia eating fish (can't remember the name lol's-brain dead). Other tank also has aiptasia.

no3 is at 3 and po4 at .07. Will have my hubby dose some neo phos once while I'm gone. Most of the algae/bryopsis is gone. At 3 weeks. Reef flux took care of it super fast this time except for a couple places where it is just fuzz

trident giving me issues. did a recalibration today and now no water sample. Did not do any thing to the unit. But there was fluid under it so not sure what happened. The sample and waste lines look hooked up. Priming the sample line isn't working. Might have to do a shut down until I get back. Could try shutting down and then restarting as well but prob. jsut shut it down for the 5 days. Back on Saturday

I am back in the land of the living! Went on the 10th to stay 5 days at dau's and play with grandkids. Came home and got sick for a week and a half! Just now feeling back to normal mostly. Tank suffered a bit.

Discovered my alk line had popped off. I had alk on floor of cabinet and office floor! Alk down to 6.6! Been working it back up. 7.7 now. Algae is gone. Time to put back carbon/purigen bags. Not going to do a big water change from the reef flux. If there is any left, it can stay to keep bryopsis away! Right now my no3 is 0 and po4 dropped to 0 so need to dose neophos and maybe get some nitrate to dose. C ut nopox down to 2 ml a day. All is looking good.

Need to go in and cut chaeto in half again. And see how many more aiptasia in the sump. Went on a A killing in the tank--both of my tanks. Need to get some peppermint shrimp or file fish. Maybe some nudi's in the sump if I can put mesh screens to block the refugium in/outlets.

Have lots of good coral growth and fish all doing well, though it looks like I lost my sleeper goby. Not sure why I can't keep any sand sifters alive. Frustrating!

About time to do another icp test for trace elements which I dose. Oh, my trident is not working. I recalibrated it and now it says no water sample. I flushed the line. Still not working. I shut it down but it didn't seem like it shut down. Started it back up again and still not working. Time for support I guess.

Also had to shut down the UV as there was a slow water drip from the line. Didn't want it to get worse while I was gone. Time to replace the bulb anyway and maybe move the pump. The pump seems to put a " oil slick" on the surface of the refugium. Not bad. But not sure if good either. More to figure out

All for now.

Tank just past the 15 month mark. Very happy with coral growth and health of fish (even though I can't seem to keep a sand sifter!). Some equipment issues with trident and UV set up and lots of maintenance to do.
Lots of pics and comments.

Thanks. they take time. Some of mine did nothing for months, like 6 months even, and then just started taking off. Some of my newer ones all browned out but recovered and are still not the colors they should be. I read it can acros a year to color back up. I do feel blessed with this tank. Seems I hit the right scape and flow set up and starting with higher end equipment. The last 125g tank never took off.
