I didn't have a choice. There was a pic of a black one with the others. If the one survives, I'll ask for black to have 2Oh, I though you were getting a black one?
The rubberband should be fine. I swap them out after 3-4 cycles of being in the tank (basically as soon as they get too stretchy).Yes, tomorrow morning, before feeding, I'll run a couple more tests. I have quite a bit of algae starting back up plus coraline and algae on back wall. I'll also rig up a rock that I can rubberband some nori too (wonder if it will snap the band). I also have ulva lettuce that I can try to feed it. Yeah, agree on the par meter. I'll get a better set up and try again Thanks!
Yes, so if the one at my LFS isn't rented out I can do a few quick comparisons.Do you have the apex par meter?
good. I've done it for fish before I got my nori feeder. Never had a urchin, or rather, had one in the old tank and it didn't last long. The rubberband should be fine. I swap them out after 3-4 cycles of being in the tank (basically as soon as they get too stretchy).
It's pretty sad. I have one otherwise I would not have said anything.Remind me to borrow the PAR meter from my LFS to see how much mine is under or overreporting.
be interested in hearing your results.Yes, so if the one at my LFS isn't rented out I can do a few quick comparisons.
I'll try a different mounting and at the height of the light cycle just to see. It's pretty sad. I have one otherwise I would not have said anything.
My issues seem to be at the connection to the ASM. I would get a silly low reading, disconnect the sensor from the ASM and reconnect it. Now I have a value that is 3 times the previous value.I'll try a different mounting and at the height of the light cycle just to see.
Ugh. I only played with it briefly. No lfs to borrow a par meter fromMy issues seem to be at the connection to the ASM. I would get a silly low reading, disconnect the sensor from the ASM and reconnect it. Now I have a value that is 3 times the previous value.
Don't get me wrong. Yours may be fine. I have struggled with mine.Ugh. I only played with it briefly. No lfs to borrow a par meter from

Mine is brown/black maybe with some tan. They sure are ugly... It's up under the main arch on the rock right now. Blends right inIt's a cucumber! Looks like it might be this species? (pink and black)
And I have some updated info on PAR readings that you, @Sean Clark and I were discussing. When you get a chance check out the latest update on my build thread.
Ugly but effective! The pure black ones are straight sand sifters (not sure about the mixed colors).Mine is brown/black maybe with some tan. They sure are ugly... It's up under the main arch on the rock right now. Blends right in
