Wow, cool videos and artwork Scott! I'm actually in the market for a new calcium reactor myself, did you get the AP regulator, doser & LCD package? I'm torn between ETSS 900 CR or Geo 618.

Thanks Zach! I got the older version of the AP regulator & doser with the flashing LED instead of the LCD read out. I was also looking at the Geo 618, but went with the Korallin instead due to the smaller footprint with the top-mounted pump.

Thanks guys! UPS just came with my Ca Rx, some Caribsea course ARM, Brightwells Neomag, an aqualifter pump, and my free MD T-shirt from the R2R discount card. On wednesday my Cylinder & regulator will be here from AquariumPlants... I can't wait!!!

Yeah, that's the tough part. Got all my goodies in earlier this week and today I'm going to get this bad bay cooking! I also ordered some acrylic so I'll have a new ATO Reservoir within the next couple weeks. Currently I'm using a 5 gallon bucket, but I'll be building a 4"x16"x20" that will hold about the same amount, but will be streamlined so that it doesn't take up as much space in my stand. The calcium reactor is pretty tall, so it has to go all the way to the back of my stand so that it has clearance with the pull out drawers.

Is there any particular reason you went with a korallin reactor? I know theres quite a few out there.. :wink:

After reading a ton of reviews, the korallin and geo reactors seemed to get the most consistent marks. The properly sized geo reactors were a bit pricier than the korallins and the Geo was out of stock at the few places I looked. Also, I was looking for a smaller footprint than several other reactors had because space in my stand is pretty tight.

I set it at 10 BPM and the effluent at a drip rate of 40 DPM yesterday to get it going and my alk is dropping slightly, so I'll need to make adjustments over the next few days. The effluent has a DKH of about 40 with a pH of 6.8, so it's definitely doing it's job. The AP regulator makes fine tuning the bubble count a breeze and I'm glad I spent the extra cash.
