Swollen blood belly after hypo

I had a marine itch I guess after starting the new tank specially as had a lot of fish introduced including some butterflies. Few fish died and slowly I started to reduce the salinity to hup towards 1.009. I think 2 days ago when I reduced it further it went down to a out 1.008 and my sailfin rang seems to have gotten really bloated. I increased the salinity back up a bit towards 1.009 but he had gotten bigger still.

What should I do?

That is one of the drawbacks of hyposalinity - if you go too low (below 1.009) and/or the fish has some underlying issue, fluids build up in their tissues. This is called edema. Your tool to measure salinity may have been off, and possibly your 1.008 reading was actually lower. Or, the fish may have a kidney or liver disease.

Sorry - there is not any treatment for that other than to get back to 1.009 using a standardized hydrometer and hope for the best.

Trying to eat but it's hard as he can't keep steady with being bloated.

No one have any experience reguarding this ? it seems he have some poop stuck also. Shall i try to take him out if can and do something ?

Sorry - the root cause is liver or kidney failure, and there just isn't any cure for that, just like with people, transplants would be the only option.

You can sometimes reduce the symptoms by going back to normal salinity (over 3 to 5 days). However, that of course means that whatever disease you were treating is going to come back.....

Wow, so sorry to see a fish in this state. But thank you for sharing this with us. This condition is new to me and I am able to learn from it. Its very sad but thanks for sharing.
