I have a Coralife lunar T5 on my mixed coral/jaw fish tank it's only 2 months old and this morning the actinic lights were out so I opened it tried to reset them in the caps NG I had the bulbs it came with I never used them so I put them in still NG so I took out daylite bulbs and put actinic in there and they worked.. So I put the daylite bulbs in the actinic side and they worked there ....???? I know all this equipment is from China but this is bizarre,I have tried several other bulbs I have but seems this light will not fire actinic in that side was going to switch it but fan is only on day side. Anyone have a clue?

Sounds like the ballast for the actinic bulbs has gone bad. They are easily replaced, I would try to get one made by a more reputable company (GE is reliable and can be bought at home depot or lowes).

Sounds like a low quality fixture. When it comes to light fixtures, i will not cheap out. I once had a cheap odyssea t5 fixture. The end caps all became loose, and there was bare wire exposed where they connected. It was definitely an electrocution, and probably a fire hazard. Now, i have a wavepoint t5 fixture. As soon as i picked it up i could feel it was much better built. It also has a built in gfi plug.

But the daylight bulbs work fine in that side fire right up and stay running that's the part I don't get if the ballast was the problem I don't think any bulb would fire.. right?
