Hello Everyone,
I have been in the freshwater hobby for over 15 years. I also in the past 3 years started to Scuba dive. I love diving so much that i wanted a little piece of heaven 24/7, so i decided to start a reef tank. I have been researching the "hobby/addiction" for a month now and just went out and got my tank. I have a 55 g fw that i will eventually convert over but for now i am starting from scratch with a 29g. I know, i know, i know. Once the time is right to switchover the 55 i plan on using the 29 as a sump so there is a plan. i figured a 29 is good for my space, my commitment level and my budget. Plus if i am successful there i know the 55 wont be a problem. I have ordered a stand for the tank, dry rock, live sand, an upgraded light, salt, a 50 gal RODI unit, power head, filter floss, ammonia, starter bacteria. I intend to keep mostly 85-90% coral if possible with the intent to get an anemone within the next 8 months. i plan on cycling the tank starting this weekend and let it run for the entire month of April. Then in May start adding livestock. that is where i am stuck. so back to researching and finding when to add what.
I have never been a big you tube fan but OMG i have never found so much info in one place. it has been amazing and all the videos are helpful even though some are way over my head. I am so happy to have started this amazing hobby and cant wait to see where the rabbit hole takes me. Thank you in advance for any feedback or recommendation you have and i hope to be on this board daily!
Take care!
