I have a sailfin, a yellow, and a powder brown......what are my options with possibly adding a kole eye or blue regal?

I know my powder brown is VERY territorial yet he is smallest of all my tangs....

When ever I add a new tang I try and get one that is larger. Another thing that has worked for me is to buy two fish they don't seem to get picked on when I do that.

It all depends on how big your tank is. It helps a lot to add more than one tang at a time. I have five tangs in my 210 gallon. It might be tough with your powder brown. I would say the regal would be a better option because of the body shape. Just my opinion and good luck

I'd actually do smaller than the powder brown but you could add them both and shouldn't have to much troubles since they are very different species I have tons of tangs and better to add more than one new tang at a time to lesson the amount of dominance that would be played out

As long as your tank is big enough, I'd give it a try. Be ready to pull the powder brown and maybe put him in a "timeout" in a QT tank or somewhere if he won't give up. Put him back once the new addition is settled. I have a purple, yellow, regal and naso that live perfectly in my 180. I was told more than once, "you can't do that"

Wouldn't do it if you're looking long-term (which I personally feel we should all be looking long-term because it is rare that we actually remove a fish when they get too large for the tank). A 135 isn't really that large of a tank when you're talking about tangs.

But that's just my 2 cents...

I don't think I would try it until you did your upgrade. I don't think that would be enough space for all those tangs. Just my opinion

Your tank is almost double the size of hers. Those extra gallons go a long ways. So much more swimming room. Not saying it wouldn't work just not sure if I would try it. Sounds like an awesome combo in your 250. I bet its fun to watch.

Any updade, Jennifer? I'm reading up a little bit and considering putting a tomini in my 220...and I already have a Kole tang in it, along with a blue hippo.
