I am looking to add more fish to my reef. Tank is 5'x2'x22" tall. ~135 gallon display.

I have the following fish...

Powder Brown Tang
Tomini Tang
Fox Face
Clownfish Pair
Diamond Goby

I am looking at adding currently...

2-3 flasher wrasse.

should I add one male and two females of the same species or should I mix male flasher wrasse. Like a McCosker's & Carpenters. (not sure about a 3rd.)

Later I may add a Flame Hawkfish.

I am open to other options as well if preferable like Banggai cardinal or dotty back or basslet.

I have my QT setup for these next fish.

Thanks!

Mix! You want them flashing each other! I would start off with females if possible for a chance to see their transition and keep them longer ("super males" are just old wrasses that may not live that much longer).

Recommendations:
Paracheilinus lineopunctatus (gorgeous)
P. angulatus (interesting fin shapes/flashing)
P. attenuatus (gorgeous, super expensive but will be worth it every time it flashes)
P. cyaneus (amazing color change when flashing)

Flasher wrasse may not do well in a tank with established tangs. You should not add more then one of the same species. Hawkfish can also be too aggressive for flashers.

Personally I’d swap the flashers for fairy wrasse and like with the flashers I’d get 2-3 of different species. My suggestions are below.

Note that though fairy wrasse are generally tougher then flasher wrasse, they can also suffer from aggressive, established tangs. PBTs in particular can be cantankerous

When did you become a flasher expert?? Or was it ID'ing flashers...?

Anyway, still be two days till I say I'm sorry.

I can’t tell the difference between the 120 or whatever flasher and fairy females that all look identical. Aaron has some magical ability there
