At 16 cm it is a larger tang. These pictures, especially the 2nd one, look very much like an adult Chevron tang. Here is my Chevron Tang at about 18 cm. It is hard to try to DI with blurry pictures, Chevron, and a lot of other tangs have intricate pattern on their skin that can be seen if you observe closely and the fish is healthy (and the light hit it just light especially)
+1Definitely Ctenochaetus striatus, I've got one and he looks exactly like that. Not a chevron, but close.
This was my guess at first but the tail, take a look. really mature for its size to mecoerluleus tang AKA atlantic blue has more yellow than white on the tail as below
Rather it looks like a whitetail bristle or striatus . Not even close to Chevron which gets real Dark after juvenile stage
Definitely a C. striatus, they get bigger than the average Ctenochaetus. A very similar size to Chevrons (C. hawaiiensis).Less blue pictures:
