hey guys not had a great christmas- long story short ive had some heart problems and i was unable to change the water for a while í feel awful avout it, í have a 300l tank and i had 1 tang, 1 royal gramma , 2 peacock wrasses, 1 yellow wrasse, 2clownfish, 1 engineer goby. my nitrates were high and so were my salinity however í have struggled with that being (salinity) high for a while so it was not a sudden spike. ive had hair algae issues since i set up this tank rwally bad (in july) and due to it being quite strenuous rubbing the glass and scrubbing everytbing í was unable to do it enough due to my heart, so then ím not fully sure why but i had an algal or bacterial bloom causing the whole tank to go cloudy, my peakock also died just before this, í did a lot of water changes as it was like that for a couple of days but on day 4 when it was almost clear my tang then died, after being clear my royal gramma (this is the important one as i believe they are all dying of this) got a cloudy eye, light sensitive and then this like white gunk all over them that in my opinion looked more like their slime coat coming off/ being really thick than a disease, she died that night, however this was like almost a week ago/ at least 4 days ago and everytbing was living and happy, suddenly though on the 24th my engineer goby started getting lifht sensitive a day before and lost appetite and then suddenly on the 25th got tbat awful coat thing and couldn’t control herself properly but she did keep trying to swim but she would fall or roll and she died within the night and idk if important but when she was desd í found her on her back, and now yesterday my male clown started getting some of that white stuff and swimming fast at the bottom, i have had her 7 years and ive just found her dead this morning, and so now i only have my female clown, 1 peacock and 1 yellow, however there weird thing ís ís my shrimp and 2 starfish and snails are all alive and shrimp even changed his skin the day before uesterday. i have attached a photo of clown morning of dying, and also my female has a bit of the white stuff and i really want to save her. here are perimeters thank you for any help or ideas. these r perimeters from last night ammonia and nitrites were 0 or very very fractionally above that í couldnt see with human eye, nitrates were slightly raised but like 5-10, kh was slightly low at 7 and then salinity was the bad high one at 1.028 however tjat wasn’t a sudden raise

Can you post pictures under white lights, or better yet, a video under white lights? Hosting on YouTube works well if you can't post videos directly here.

I can sort of see some white mucus on the clownfish, but the picture isn't clear enough and is too blue.

The key symptom here is that your invertebrates are all fine, but the fish are having issues. That tends to imply that the problem is a fish disease and not a water quality issue. In almost every case, if there is a water quality problem, the invertebrates will be affected also.

hi, this was brfore the clownfish died so i do not have photos anymore however whst is weird ís idk how long they take to pass on but there was like at least a day between each death and the royal gramma and tang were actually a week before the other 2, but yes í do agree í don’t understand that it wldnt be a disease as the water seems normal
