The deck is beautiful. I can't believe people call a builder to build a deck. I don't remember how many I built for myself and friends. My Son n law doesn't even know which end of a screwdriver to bang a nail in with. My Daughter is a little better but they both have too much college so they don't have much common sense.
I think we taught our Daughter right anyway and she always had to pay her own way, buy her car, apartment, insurance and everything else. I love our Son N Law but he never had to pay for anything on his own. I don't believe in paying for things for kids. After a certain age of course, infants are lousy at building decks.
Pay for it yourself, or just don't have it. It worked for me and it worked for her. I have had a real job since I was 12, cutting cars apart with an acetylene torch in a junk yard. Try that with a 12 year old today. They just want a stupid tablet which teaches them to ask Daddy for money.
I am also very proud to say I have no Oligies. I used to live a few blocks from the railroad and I would always tell people. See those old people getting off the train 9 and 10:00 at night wearing suits. They are college graduates. I used to get home at 3:00 and retired when I could still walk, I have a nice pension and free medical. Oligies aren't for everyone unless you really like your job and don't ever want to retire. :D
I also never had to hire anyone for anything until today when I am having an elevator installed. I would do that myself but you need a license here to do that and I don't have one.
I also had to hire an electrician to connect it even though I have been a Master electrician for fifty years and am much more qualified that the guy I had to hire. You need a license for every town here.
Some people don't care about free time, but I did so I became a construction electrician. It was hard work, but there was always an end in sight and the work kept me in good shape although I wore out all my joints.
This is me on top of the Plaza Hotel installing some lights. It was 17 degrees that day. That is snow covered Central Park below me. I took two of those metal Halide lights home for my tank.
And me CAD welding in a Garbage incinerator in NYC. Man's work, Not Sissy, Girly mans work. :p
