HELP

I’ve had a 40 breeder on a metal stand for about 3 months and I had just noticed I can slide a piece of paper between the tank and the stand on the front and back edges.

Can I just push shims in around the two edges?

I know emptying the tank and correcting the problem is ideal... I was thinking about adding a solid layer of plywood or other similar material.

How much can a tank hold? Do I need to take out everything?!

Thoughts? Advice?

Is it on the ends like this. All 4 corners of my 120 were like this and I took it back and got another one. The 4 corners need the support.
The new tank had all surfaces touching. It was a different manufacure too.

All four corners are touching and the two ends are touching.

So you're saying this is likely okay?

Many people have setup tanks on cinder blocks with just the ends touching with no support in the middle.
I would want full contact for piece of mind.
I run 2 40 breeders as sumps on my 2 systems.
Both have complete contact with the plywood I put down.
With a sheet of plywood you shim under the plywood not the tank.

Thanks for the knowledge!

I think i freaked out a little faster than I should have. I actually just loosed up the bolts on each corner (one at a time) and put upward pressure on the cross bars and tightened the end bolts up. It actually worked and now I can't get a business card between the tank and the stand anywhere around the tank.

Sorry for the emergency! I'm going to leave this up in case anyone else notices this with the petco 40 breeder metal stand.
