I bet we've all seen these types of threads started on the forums, "What VorTech should I get for my (insert tank size here)?" And usually they are answered fairly quickly by many current VorTech users.

So, in hopes of building a comprehensive user based resource for future VorTech owners to reference...

Please post up your tank stats: [emoji4]

Tank Dimensions:

Tank Water Volume:

Type of Reef and/or Habitat: (Lagoon, SPS dominate, Mixed, FOWLR...etc. )

VorTech MP/QD Models: (10/40/60, How many?)

If you'd like to add anything else, like tank placement, feel free!!

Thanks!

Tank Dimensions: 72"x24"x24"

Tank Water Volume: 180 gallons

Type of Reef and/or Habitat: SPS dominate, handful of LPS

VorTech Models: 2 MP40's, run on Nutrient Transport Mode.

My scape allows for a lot of open water which probably allows only two MP40's to work effectively at the moment. I do anticipate on adding another MP40 or switch one of the current ones for a MP60 when my colonies grow larger. They are the only two powerheads.

Sps dominate with some lps

4 Mp10wes (upgrading to QD waiting for them to come in mail) 2 on back panel, other 2 on each end of tank. The 2 on end panels are in sync mode and the 2 on back panel anti sync mode.Running nutrient export mode at 100%. Would actually like to know ur guys opinion on my placement of the pumps, would u leave as is or set them up a different way?

I suppose I'd ought to add my setups... [emoji6]

Marineland 125gal (72"x18"x22")

SPS dominate

Two MP40s (One upgraded with QD driver, and supplemented with two Jebao RW 8s)

MP40s are centered on either side of the tank in the upper 3/4 of the height. I run them at 70% Lagoon at night and a mix between 100% Reefcrest / 90% Shortpulse during the day.

40gal breeder frag tank.

Very mixed with SPS, LPS, Zoas, and Softies.

Two MP10s

Each are situated in the upper 3/4 of the height. Left is more towards the front, horizontally, while the right is more towards the rear.

I run these at 50% in lagoon mode.

So for a frag tank that is 36x16x8, would one MP10 be enough?

Tank Dimensions: 36x18x16

Tank Water Volume: 40 breeder

Type of Reef and/or Habitat: SPS 99% dominated, 1 small Duncan colony

VorTech MP/QD Models: 2 MP40S run on an Apex WXM with various modes throughout the day. 10 sec Pulse, Lagoon and Reefcrest max out at 45%. I used MP40s for the wide flow as compared to MP10s.
