I just got this 200g yesterday one of the only things I dont like about it is the support running across the top I was wondering if I can cut that out or is it adding the necessary rigidity that the glass needs could I cut that out and add some on the sides? the glass is 1/2 inch I would like to run it without the canopy but the center glass is to much of a eye sore

You could remove it, but then youd have to eurobrace it. I WOULD NOT fill the tank without any bracing.

Mostly joking. Don’t cut the support. It’s structural.
do you think it will mess with my lighting the calcium buildup is stuck between the 2 panels I guess I could always do softies in the center

Hey, did not say #WelcometoR2R in your other post. So welcome.

I can’t really say about structure. I will say it does block light but not a huge deal. I do think they use the brace as support for glass lids. My 180 has 2 braces my glass tops sit in. I often think if I cut them out it would not make a difference. But again don’t go by me on structure.
