Tell me about your username

Laverda is an Italian sport motorcycle that I road and was a large dealer of until they went out of business. I used to ride a Laverda 750SFC early on for transportation before the price went through the roof.

When I joined the forum, I had 7 tanks. 5FW and 2 reefs. Can't get enough of the wet stuff. I still have 5. Realized I spelled it wrong and thought "Oh well, It's unique." so I left it as is.

Mine is pretty easy to explain. I live in TN and I own huskies lol

As my name suggests, I use my own tank(s) as an experiment.

To further my understanding, I've tested new treatments, methods and so forth on my own systems/inhabitants repeatedly. Sometimes I'm searching for new techniques and methods while other times, I'm seeing how reproducible someones claims are.

I pretty much live in a lab 24/7.

Mine was given to me by my parents...

I had a lot of Disney stuffed animals as a child and I couldn't pronounce the names at all so I just called each one of them MERKEY

And it stuck forever

At sporting events my mom would yell out "Go MERKEY" and everyone would crack up!

All my cards from family are labeled MERKEY

All my teachers up until high-school used it

It finally grew on me so I use it....;Hilarious ;Smuggrin

Mine has a few origins, I'll try to elaborate here.
So in the most basic of terms, my username is my middle name, Knightley, with the prefix Mr. That's simple enough, right? I was given that name because my mother was reading the Jane Austen books while she was pregnant with me, and one of her favorite characters (From "Anne") was George Knightley, also known as Mr. Knightley. Mr. Knightley has a younger brother in the books named John, which his also my first name, so it all ties back around in a weird way.
So yeah, that is where my username comes from. A lot of other names I use across the web stem from things such as my Italian descent as well as just random nicknames accumulated over the years.

I love sailing and my name is Eric. My passion is open ocean offshore sailing and usually do a couple trips a year on retired friend's 46 ft sailboat. Him and his wife are part time cruisers and when they not cruise he would put together a guy's trip to deliver the boat to put it away or bring it out of storage for hurricane season. Thanks to him I have been up and down the east coast about a half dozen times, to Bermuda, the Bahamas a bunch of times and a couple trips from Antigua to Grenada. And thanks to him I have also learned it is much better to have a friend with a boat vs actually owning one
