Ok, decided that I wanted to upgrade my water change system. Went with two brute cans and pex-a to stay away from any metals in the lines. The issue I have, as you see from the picture, is the temperature probe. Do any of you know of a weight (or another idea) that would be ok in the salt for extended periods of time to keep it closer to the bottom. Right now it’s loose and just wrinkles up and comes out of the water which is not ok. Mind you I only am doing one Gallon a day changes. It still would end up being one gallon of basement temperate water which I assume would tick everything off.

I have mine in a piece of PVC tube (rigid white pipe from HD).
I cut a bulkhead in my lid, and pressure fit the PVC into it, from the bottom of the lid, then threaded my cable down inside of the tube to near the bottom.

Besides the way above which I like better the only other thing I can think of is put a uniseal towards the bottom and cut a small pice of PVC. Have the probe just sticking out of the PVC and then fill the PVC with silicone.
