Interesting that a few of you keep it warmer in the summer and cooler in the winter, I have always heard to do the opposite in case of power failure. I keep mine at 78.5 year round via Apex.

My basement stays cool...even in the summer, but in the winter I already have to run an electric heater in the room down there so with 3 heaters in tank, 76 is its sweet spot,lol
And in the summer I like a cool house so I take the heaters out excluding one in The sump set at 75 just incase....

80deg. Ran heaters on fresh water for 30 years while living up north. Haven't plugged in heater for a year on reef tank. That's florida for ya.

As a former Pet store owner, It Is known, the higher the temperature, the lower the oxygen levels. Mid7s match ocean thermocline averages.
