So i have a nano 60 and its 32 days old. Been taking samples to my lfs for my tests. Looking at getting the test kits myself but my question.

Red sea or salifert and why?

You will find most folks use different brands for different tests for many reasons. Ease of use, accuracy, price, read out vs color matching, etc.

I use Red Sea pro nitrate, Hanna for Alk and the Hanna ULR for phosphates, and salifert for calcium and magnesium.

So are the salifert test kits good enough to use?

Hanna for dkh, calcium, phosphate. I double check phosphate with a Red Sea kit on occasion. Salifert for magnesium and nitrate. I chose those because of ease of use and accuracy.
