I just had to post this. I made the mistake of cheating on this forum by going to another and registering. What a mistake! I won't name it, but within minutes I was seeing rude, dynasty replies all over. The first post I looked at on this other forum had someone attacking another user who was asking a simple question, practically telling him to get out of the hobby.

So the grass isn't greener on the other side. My only point is to say how incredibly helpful and awesome every single member on R2R had been. I've said it before, but it deserves its own thread. Without this forum, I'd be lost!

As a newb, I've read and reread almost every post. I've watched you-tube videos. I've asked LFS and others for help. When a newb asks a question, it's not because we don't know necessarily- I mean, I've read answers to the question I'm asking. As you know, everyone experiences reefing in a different way, and it helps to get new opinions. Every time a topic is repeated, different people answer and it gives more experience to everyone else. So yes, we do read old posts and ask the same questions again- different experienced reefers will often answer. And you ALL on this forum answer again and again, respectfully, with kindness and concern.

So my point is this- R2R is amazing. Every single member has been kind, patient, and really helped me enjoy the process. Thank you all for being amazing. I will ALWAYS recommend this forum to anyone because the level of love you have for the hobby is not just for your own gains, it's to help people like me enjoy it just as much.

Thank you, thank you!

This place is awesome for all the help it gives. Glad you find things you are looking for and feel open to ask anything. Soon enough you'll be helping others along with their dilemma.

I'm new to this forum as well and I can echo your sentiments. I've always been able to ignore the bashing and negativity in other forums but over time, it does wear one down. It also has prevented me from asking questions in fear that someone will attack. It doesn't mean that users on here can't disagree. It just means they generally do it with respect and don't attack people personally. Oh and there is way more encouragement on here when times are tough. I haven't experienced this personally because I haven't been on here long but I have been reading other people's threads and am happy to see the encouragement and support being offered. Hopefully I will get my build thread up soon. I'm sure I can use some advice.

We are so glad you feel that way-- and for the record this is without a doubt the best reefing/saltwater forum on earth!

Totally agree with all that you've both said. This is the only forum I've ever supported financially and will continue to support - obviously for good reason. People here are genuine and very, very smart, but they don't throw it in your face. All have a great sense of humor are pretty funny and have a true passion for a living hobby that is dependent on so many factors. I subscribe to many forums, but this is the only place I consider home base.

This is just another example of how great this forum is. It is ,with out a doubt, the best forum to be a part of. Thank you for taking the time to make sure everyone knows that their efforts are recognized. I have learned more from this forum than in the previous years of web surfing. I'm not afraid to ask or include my experience in any topic. Keep up the great works folks! May we be an example for all to follow!
