I have been keeping aquariums since I was 7, so thats now 50 plus years. The said my latest addition is a 450 gallon salt water display tank that operates with a 750 gallon system (nicknamed the Beast) as a mixed reef. In addition I have a 125 gallon agressive salt water fish tank and a 180 gallon that I am trying to decide what to do with. I am an active member of an upstate New York reef club and serve as the admin of their web site. Love showing off my tanks and always learning more about reefkeeping.

Wow! Welcome to R2R! Where in New York are you? I am looking to join a local reef club.

:welcome: to R2R!

Thanks

Thanks for the warm and generous welcome from all. Will post some pics of the Beast soon. I am from the Albany area, but our club supports reefers from upstate and western New York so would love to have you join us. We are currently negotiating discounts at LFS in your area to be announced soon.

John,

Send me a pm with the details on how to join your club. LFS discounts sound great.

Some more pics of prepping the stand, cleaning the tank and help from friends in local club (CDMAS) helping with the work.

Those are coming, given I just set it up less than a year ago, replacing a 180 gallon. Figured I would walk folks thru my experience in getting it going.
