Yup, lovin' my new reef jar. Everything is so easy on this thing. Temp stays even (Inkbird), evaporation...what's that? In fact, my six inch bristle worm that came with the live rock was so accommodating, he laid out flat at the front of the glass on the sand this morning just so I could easily pick him up with forceps and send him on his toilet way.

I'm using a lid that has a built-in light that I got from Premium Aquatics called the PicoPro - fits snug and gives control over whites and blues, 24watts. Nice, easy-peasy, keeps the evaporation to a minimum...

...which leads me to a question to everyone who's using an air pump for flow: something (no doubt a snail, or maybe a telekinetic feather duster) keeps messin' with my air line (knocking it off, or, today, pushing it so water was flowing out overnight...not a lot, but got the kitchen island it's on wet) - how do y'all keep that air hose in place? Double suction cups don't seem to work.

I use parts from the suction style air line holder and magnets from K&J Magnetics. The airline holder is just super glued to the magnet.

I just had an idea: TORCH JAR!

A cookie jar jam-packed with just Torches. Hmmmm....
Agreed, though I feel like you could do a fill in the blank (_____ jar) and I would think it sounds awesome lol.

Yeah I’ve always had the thought. The jar is perfect for species only tanks. I wanna do a bowerbanki only jar one day.

Love love love this tank! I’m totally stealing the little box idea. I just have my equipment hidden behind my monitor.

Id like to try a pico or jar biodome. Lol.
Do you guys use the under the tank pad heaters?

Personally, i ordered the 50 watt cobalt aquatics controllable heater from BRS, since the places near me didn't carry any of the really small heaters. I also like that the heater is flat and so ends up taking less "useable" tank space

I need to do that. The heater I have does take up a good enough of space behind my main rock. I’ve been thinking of transferring what’s in my jar to a new tank and rescaping the whole jar. I really wanna try filling the jar with Marco algae and inverts and running a white light.

I have a 10w Cobalt mini therm hooked to a inkbird. Total control. Got the inkbird on ebay for 20$ [non wifi]
I have no need for my cookie jar to have wifi
