So this thing used to be on my zoa frag, but has since moved to the rocks. Any idea what it is? I think it left behind a spawn on my frag that I will need to deal with. It is just to the left, I apologize if it's not in great focus I am still learning the camera.

Thanks!

Looks like aiptasia. Invasive and you will want to kill them. Aiptasia X is my weapon of choice, but there are lots of options. One thing not to do is try to cut/scrape it out. Anything not removed from the tank will turn into new ones. And if they feel threatened they can release more.

Bummer, I was hoping it wasn't. I'll try the hot water trick, it's in a tricky spot...

Is it in a place where you could put some superglue over it (or aquarium putty). This sometimes works if there is not another hole somewhere for it to pop out of and escape.

You could just get a peppermint shrimp. My tank was full of aiptasia at one point. I rented 4 peppermint shrimp from my LFS and my tank was clean in a week. I took the shrimp back and haven't had a problem since.

I like that idea, if I can't get rid of it with the hot water trick I will try that. Thank you both!
