Back from vacation and 54 corner was cruising along nicely yay! BUT the 20 long was low on water?

This tank loses almost no water but there it was low on water. The auto feeder had a pile of food sitting on rim (throw that thing out). Algae is rampant (due to the food). But why is the water low. Then I notice the tank is warm like I expect my fish to start showing signs of some kind of plaque warm. 84 degrees but why. I do not know. I had a temp monitor that was supposed to notify me so then I could turn off the heater. Well that failed as it had lost connection to wifi. Still don't know why the temp raised. I can only assume the high temp caused the evaporation. No signs of water on desk.

Guess I'll be ordering another inkbird to avoid this issue so as not to have all my eggs in a wifi basket. And in the meantime hope everything survives the temp swing.

Looking at temp history while I was gone shows erratic temp swings

Hoping everything recovers with no issues!

Inkbird controllers are bad news. I got 3 Inkbird controllers for my 3 systems. Find that I will throw them out and go back to Finex controllers.
At least when Finex controller or sensor fail, it fails in the OFF position. It will not overheat and kill your tank. Inkbird sensor failure fail without warning and read really low temperature result in all the heaters turn on and crash the tank.

to be clear I did not have any controller on it. Thought I could manage remotely with temp alerts. The best laid plans of mice and men.

Fish appear ok thus far and snails seem to be moving around ok.

84° is hot, but usually not the end of the world.
