@Fish Styx and @fishguy242 and anyone else with an opinion...
this kinda stuff?
For just bottled bacteria, those are fine, I suppose. Though, I personally don't have experience with that line of products. I like bactobalance, because like I said, it has NO3 and PO4 in it to keep your existing levels stable.

I saw those too. almost looks like the same stuff in a different, maybe time release format.

I just remembered that I have roaphos in the sump. I should pull that when I get home. someone remind me to pull the roaphos when I get home.

Yeah, we printed a little prison for them and placed it in the sump. I refresh it once a month or when I remember. But the tank always looks a little happier when I'm remembering.

in the return chamber?
cade sumps have 2-4 spots (depending on tank size) for media from the skimmer chamber to the return, all the water must flow through them. I keep that little box in one of those, sometimes on top of a media bag sometimes on its own. return would work fine though

after the sock compartment I have 2 media sections (one is probably meant to be a skimmer section, but I don't have one) and the return. I'll ponder another day or so and see what my lfs has before I pay shipping.

Some cool things I didn't buy at the lfs today:
This purple hammer about the size of a softball

And I didn't even ask about this long tent plate:

I'm heading to my LFS soon. Dropping my wife off at Costco. This could be dangerous!

When you say, “softball”, I presume you’re talking 12 and not 16 inch. Correct?

So good news! It wasn't overly dangerous. They sold the DJ Tang before I got there so I didn't buy one BUT they had a $5 rack and some blue leg and Margarita snails for $0.75. I got me a Rainbow Monti and a Meteor Shower Cyphastrea for $5 each plus a couple of the blue legs and Margaritas. Under $20. Unfortunately they didn't have Reef Plus or Reef Trace which is what I went for...
