The Mediocreef

Was it you that had the internal canister filter? I've got it running through a mesh sock now.
That was me. It's temporary of course but I'm using a marineland magnum polishing filter.

Thanks. Is it worth the price?
I ran one of these on my FW planted a few years ago. When I bought mine, there were two sizes available. I bought mine at a LFS and they ended up charging me the price of the small one even though I bought the big one. I didn't notice this until I had gotten home. Anyways, I did get some DE for it and I found that it worked great whenever I used it.

As for it being $86, I cannot comment because that's not what I paid. I don't think that's what you should pay either so click the link below...

Yeah, I just included the price in the screenshot for reference. I don't think I paid that much either... I have not run it with DE yet, just the micron filter (uncharged) and then the regular filter without any carbon, as a stand in for a powerhead, lol.

that's a better price. It's clearer now. I also remembered I have the 207 that came off my 40, just hanging out, not doing anything. I could fill it up with the pillow and run it a bit.

doesn't look too hard to do. If I can figure out where the gaskets go on a bulkhead on the third try (true story), I can probably figure the filter out.
Never used any type bottled bac / fix , only elements in bottles... :)
I think I understand that.

Don't get it on amazon... unless you want it watered down if not replaced entirely...
noted. I need reagent for the nitrate tester though, so there will probably be a brs or saltwater aquariums order soon.

Reagent packets should be fine.
