It’s worth it. Fixing problems with a tank or specific corals is 10x the price of a decent set of test kits.
I just have one zoa frag in there now. It’s a brand new tank and I’m currently saving for test kits and all the rest of the supplies

Save for the red sea, you are a pilot because you worked for it, don't short change your tank?! :)

Unfortunately I do have to short my change on a lot of things.
I have a longggg list of stuff I have to buy for flight school and college and my truck. Slowly but surely. I have been back working though. Back on a 54ft yacht some days

Where are you located? I have an extra Red Sea nitrate kit I can send you if you’re interested?

API Kit is fine. Remember these are all hobby kits, so you can put your lab coats away. Red Sea and Hanna have both worked well for me too.

That said there is one Hanna kit that has bagged me twice. Here is your friendly PSA:

Most of their tests use packets and the reagent is always fresh and measured. The Alkalinity kit however uses a bottled liquid. Twice now I have had serious errors when I was at the end of the bottle. After exposing it to air several times while using, it eventually becomes worthless. Be very careful relying on that test when you near the bottom of the liquid. I would recommend always toss the last 10-20% for a new bottle. It’s a waste, but the cost is less than one frag and not worth overdosing your tank.

All this snake talk made me want to share I have been considering getting a smaller, Ball Python (they only get 3-6’ tops). Growing up as a kid we used to catch and release Milk and Garter Snakes. Later I owned Boas and Pythons (as well as several other reptiles).

These are a few of the Morphs I am considering. They look exotic, but average only a couple of hundred dollars. Let me know which you like!

I’ll be honest, I haven’t tested anything in a year except Ammonia when I thought something may have died. Been screwed too many times by poor hobby test readings. I’d rather do regular ICP-OES tests. Do that for $30 every six months and keep an Ammonia kit handy for emergencies. Cheap and simple.

EDIT: Unless you are starting a new tank and want to monitor the progress, I suppose. I just wouldn’t rely solely on any kit.

I’ll be honest, I love the sleek simplicity of 1. I really like the unique coloring of 4 too with the pink, brown and yellow. It is called a Banana Coral Glow morph. All are still Ball Pythons.

From a telemarketer:
Listen a job is a job, we all need to find away to put bread on the table don’t we? To make a long story short I’m a telemarketer that’s my job and that’s what I do. It’s not a job everyone appreciates, but it’s a job I enjoy and am proud of. The other day I called a house and a real nice lady answered the phone, she was really helpful and friendly, she was the type of lady that helps a telemarketer get through a long day. After some pleasantries I asked if Mr. Smith was in, “I’m sorry”, she answered “I’m afraid he doesn’t live here anymore.” Now that was a real disappointment being that she was a nice lady and all, but I took it all in a stride, “I’m sorry to hear that ma’am. Do you happen to have his new number.” “Sure thing!” The woman cheerfully replied, listing off his new number.
I hung up the phone and quickly called the new number and was surprised to hear a recording. “Thank you for calling Green Acres Cemetery…”
