back in the70's my uncle would take me to glenview naval airbase ,used to take off regularly to sonic boom shook the town, they stopped it soon after too many complaints, was awesome

Many years ago (1993 to be exact) , I was helping my friend look for his golf ball between the tree line and the OB. I was looking down to see if it rolled up where the grass met the tree trunks, when my head bumped right into a low hanging hornets nest. My friend was on the fairway as he looked up when he heard my screaming from behind the trees.
He described the scene of me breaking through the tree line and racing towards a pond like a cartoon with a large black cloud chasing above my head. - which of course caused him to double over in laughter.

They gave up the chase just before I needed to dive in the pond (which I assume would have literally killed my partner in laughter). I picked off about a dozen 2 inch black hornets stinging me with my gloved hand from my lips, ears, chest and ankles.

I had the final laugh in one of life's great ironic turn of events. After the morning round, we headed over the the US Open at Baltusrol, and while walking along a fence line, he stepped on a yellow jacket hive.

I don't like hornets

No one does. lol...

My dad was stationed at March AFB in Riverside, CA in the late 60s early 70s. The flight line was not far from our house. It was a B-52 base and they worked on them constantly. They would fire the jet engines up whenever they needed to, whether it was mid-day or middle of the night. Extremely loud. I remember trying to watch shows on TV and having to turn the volume all the way up and putting my ear next to the speaker and still could not hear what was being said. It was cool for the first couple of weeks. :-)

They do that here. We live close to the base..IT ROCKS THE HOUSE!
Love when the do that:cool:
We're less than 20 miles, in a straight line, from NAS Pensacola, their home base. Love seeing them 3 days a week doing their show practices, then on Sunday afternoons they do a flyby along the coast on their way back to NASP. Miss the practices now due to working in Mobile, but never miss the flyby...will try to get video next time they come by.

Speaking of... Who's looking forward to the new Top Gun movie?
I have mixed feelings about it. It has the same feeling as an 80's rock band making a comeback tour by adding a young lead guitarist. It may be better to let the memory be savored rather than risk tainting it with a poor attempt at a money grab. We will see how it goes!

I'm hoping it'll have an awesome soundtrack and some bad*** flying. I'm not really a Cruise fan.

So I fit my largest structure in the tank today just for scale. I laughed because it was almost dwarfed by the tank. So much room!!! :)
I haven't even tested my structures in my tank yet...lol. I'm just going by my pink cotton tail ;Hilarious and hoping it works out...that and the pics of the previous structures, which primarily used the same rocks just in a different configuration.

I was honestly surprised! This is 3x+ anything I've gotten to play with! I'm so freaking excited!!!
