Nose art is no longer acceptable in the military :(

I Know. They Snowflak-afied the military like almost everything else. :(

Its changed a ton since basic in 2001.

You think it changed since 2001. I did basic in 1969 . We practically trained with muskets.

Gotta hang onto your sense of humor, right?

I didn't know your total situation. Your mom and wife's health is more important then trying to get back home.
We are trying to find a room closer, but attempts so far have been futile. Almost had one 30 miles from home, but they refused my sixty pound dog. Their limit for pets is 40 pounds. Is that pretty heartless, or what? Days Inn if anyone is interested (In a rural town no less). Another hotel wanted to charge us $140 a night and an additional $150 a night for our dog. W T F is wrong with people?

Thanks, I am considering this - if I can find one. I have my 85 year old mother with us who isn’t in great health. She lives in her own home. So I have two places to clean up and fix. I would prefer to have her in a place with power so she can stay comfortable. The heat will be awful on her. My wife will try to help but she is partially disabled and has had 6 orthopedic surgeries in the last four years. She is limited in what she can do. I knew I should have had kids. :)
I’ll get back to you on that. My daughter has been responsible for my tank for the last month. There have been quite a few midnight “emergency” calls;Woot

I know here in state of emergency, hotels etc cannot refuse you because of animals regardless of size (within reason, dont think you could walk in with a horse or elephant), or charge extra for them...need to check your local and state laws on it, report them in for price gouging etc.

Edit...if you need me to keep the pup for you until you can get settled a little better I can do that too.

good call..think the police and guard are funneling in to help put end to looting by dark!!! best wishes ,keep us posted ,take care of yourselves!!
I just read that there is at least a curfew from 7pm to 6am.

I was fortunate enough to get hold of a roofer Right away and he went and covered the roof today. So at least that will mitigate further water damage in the house.

That is what I thought for here as well. We were talking to someone that wasn’t even at the hotel and had a bad foreign accent that we couldn’t fully understand. We just let it go. We will use that approach on future calls.

My wife has blonde hair (I think  ) But I prefer black hair. When I airbrushed her picture many years ago I gave her black hair. Of course I don't know how to airbrush blonde so the decision was easy.

Apparently not. I didn't paint them, I just hang them but never look at them. :p

I like them all and I am not picky.

Maybe try calling the direct number for the hotel in question...not just the reservation line

We’ve been doing that all day. Apparently, when they are full they quit answering the phone. I can’t tell you how many hotels didn’t even pick up the phone. Looks like most people are having to go to New Orleans to get a room. That’s 205 miles. Where we are is a little closer at 175 miles. So, to me I would rather just stay here for now. No traffic here. Nice and quiet.
